Subject: New rubber starter flaps on hesston baler

East Central Nebraska
Installed new starter roller rubber flaps on my 565 Hesston baler last night. The new ones I got had a rough surface and much wider in which I'm thinking the old ones were worn down. The new ones were about a good inch wider. The new ones contact the belts. Does any trimming need done or is this the way it works. Any thing to watch for with the rough strips v. the smooth ones that were on there. I changed them out as was having trouble starting a bale. 3rd year I've had this baler and never had a starting bale problems until towards the end of the 3rd cutting last year. I seen the tricks to starting out and that helped. But these definitely looked worn. Thanks Greg
