I am a service specialist with Great Plains Mfg., and have been following your posts and videos. Your modified Turbo-Till looks to be doing a good job in the conditions you are running in. When I shared the video with our engineers, their main concern is that you have the front gangs angled out instead of in like a Turbo-Max. The issue with having the angle going out will show if you get into some harder ground. When the Turbo-Max concept was being tested, we found that if the front gangs were angled out, they would ride up out of the ground and would not penetrate. The other issue was that angling a long gang would not cut out quite as well as the shorter gangs of the Turbo-Max. You won't likely see that on the surface, but if you clear away the loose dirt where it has been you could find some ridges. The Turbo-Till still has a place in its designed configuration. It does an excellent job of sizing residue and preparing a seed bed. Turbo-Max will do that plus give the ability to change gang angle on the go to cut out some weeds and bury more trash. We just wanted these issues known for those that may want to modify other Turbo-Tills in the future.
