Subject: RE: too cold to plant?

PROSPECT, TENNESSEE
I still like my bottoms here, soil temp is 60 degrees, has been for a week now, but a big rain followed by a cold snap will drop it quickly. I am gona wait one more rain before finishing up here. Seems to me that corn that takes up "cold" water never gets goin good.
Having said that, I am full throttle planting soybeans, 3's are in 4.0 to 4.8's are in workin on the 4.9's now. By the rain event scheldued for Thursday night we will be 2/3 done with soybeans. This higher ground is about 64 degrees. The corn I planted 10 days ago is up and goin, it took a cold spell, but it was three days after planting. The soil temp droped to 50 degrees for two days, from 56.
