I had a 1600A I was very happy to be rid of it. I have a jd956 disc mower now and it enjoyable to cut hay again. I never could get the 1600A to do a good job and not have issues we  had 1014 hesstons and  a old 114 New Holland and I wished I had the New Holland back towards the end of the 1600As time on the farm. I really like the JD 956 .We put up mostly grass hay and I did not plug it once last year. I heard the older JD swathers were even worse then the 1600s.
