Right now I am spending around $1.10- $1.50 per day. I am feeding only brome or prairie hay. My lot of old cows I bought gets 4 lbs of corn so that is on the higher side of my range. Also fed protein tubs for a month or so that can make it even more. I figured the hay was worth $50 per ton. Dry-lotting is pretty competitive price wise with renting pasture this year. I figure hay will be worth probably double next year, though.
