| we got our s in free stall s and slat s . all I can say is don t cheap out on space give them wide alley s and lot s of walking like two alley s
we cheaped out on space and personaly I would never build free stalls again I recently (6 month now ) have my confirmed bred heifer s out
on a bedding pack the ladies that are calving now have more muscle stand like 2 - 3 inchs taller
their hooves were always tiny now they have huge feet .
I used to have foot rot / hairy wort in bred group but thats gone now
but having said that I bed like a made man 45 animals they get a bale a day 5X6 bale s
in free stall s cleaning alley s would suck your always moving ladies around if you skid steer scrap
then if you miss a few time boom foot problem s
building free stall s really expnsive too
