North Central Illinois | HTA's are a useful tool but do be careful. I've had a lot more success with them in corn. As others mentioned we could have a few more beans on hand going into harvest this year. If we have a good crop on top of that you might see some pretty crappy basis come harvest. You can always roll those out past harvest and wait for basis to improve but you will pay a DP charge on those beans past harvest. If you have your own storage that is a little different. I still prefer some forward cash sales and storing the rest in a bin for a post harvest rally. Good luck! | |
