NC Iowa | The post by dariymanswife on their deep freeze problem got me to thinking about our deep freeze. Ours is a Whirlpool, manual defrost that's over 25 years old. Looked it over this weekend and door seals beginning to look brittle. Has a lot of frost buildup inside so needs to be defrosted again. I'm sure the energy efficiency is not the best on it. Don't want to find thawed out items someday in it. My question is which is better for a replacement ? Look at a manual defrost again or frost free unit ? Pro's and con's for each style ? Thanks !!
