ANY popup that says they can "fix" anything on your computer should be viewed as junk.

Those finding a virus should be closed by pressing Alt + F4, I wouldn't even click on close in their case.

I would also run either Chrome or Firefox and install Adblock Plus. https://adblockplus.org/en/about
