The reason I asked is case IH planter tech was up yesterday doing a planter inspection. I have to replace a hose on the PTO pump. He recommended deleting it said they have done a bunch of them with no problems. I ran a 24 row deere vac with zero problems before this planter. Does the case take more hydraulics than the deere?

Much more than a Deere... And the way they divert oil from the bulk fill to the raise lower circuit makes it raise slow.

Neighbors replaced their pto pump with a larger one a first model year 1250 24r planter and lowered their fuel usage dramatically and improved performance. They may well have been lots of changes since then though so take it for what it's worth.

We run a DB60 36r20" planter off of our tractor hydraulics on our Magnum 305 and get along fine. But Deere did some smarter things than Case with oil usage and their fan motors are more efficient. We even run hydraulic row cleaners which takes constant flow, very little oil needed but it oil none the less.
