Subject: RE: chevy suburban tranny

South Western Ontario
A tranny from a 1999 GMT800 will not work. A tranny from a Old body style '99 should work with some modification. The bellhousing is different, and from what i understand, requires some handy work with a die grinder. The PWM lock-up strategy is also said to be different. It's going to take some more in-depth research to be sure. A 96 or 97 will work for sure though. A 95 is different wiring as well as a completely different PWM lock-up strategy. Not worth trying. Valve body is different as well.
