NE Iowa | When I started farming, my dad had an older combine. We entered a roll program with JD together. We each paid our % according to acres of that bill.
Now, we run about the same acres, and just own a combine 50/50.
We have some things I own, some things he owns.
On a few things, like the field cultivator, Dad traded his FC, and it went towards his 1/2 of the bill. now we own it 50-50.
I never rented anything from Dad. But, he did not have any debt on equipment either, and we don't do any labor payments to each other either.
