Have tried that with foliar apps in the past. By accident I applied some 3rd day of August just because I had some left over. Saw a +12 bu where we sprayed. Thought I was on to something. So the next year I applied it in that same time period. lost 11 bu that year. Biggest difference was I got rain after the first year. Didn't see any rain in August that second year.
I have never been a fan of in furrow app in beans. Have seen stand reduction with even straight water cleaning out the starter system. I have a 1 customer left that still uses the Huckstep shoe and has great luck with it. 0x2 and 2x2 works well
