Western EC Iowa | 10 in tube, 15 in belt on a Universal field loader. Will take a 10 inch under bin auger wide open if it isn't too cold outside. In dry corn you can be off the road and back on in 15 minutes. The key is the horizontal section to get the grain moving. Ours has the squeeze drive in the center, believe it is 10 hp. Also have a top drive with a short horizontal hopper, 3 ft or so. Think that is 7.5 and is only a 30 footer, it won't take as much grain as the long hopper 35 foot field loader. All about angle and having the grain up to speed when it starts uphill.
Kmech's points are well taken. We have had to have one spliced and don't have the tools to do it. Never had one chewed up, will probably happen sometime. And, wet conditions can cause issues. If you let it run a bit to dry off, it normally works. If it doesn't, go do something else, I suppose... | |
