South Africa | Hey Ben. We have about 3000 acres of crops and the same amount in lucerne (alfalfa) at any given time. We grow wheat, barley, canola, lupins and oats. More or less 40% wheat, 30% barley, 20% canola/lupins and 10% oats. We also have Merino sheep and a herd of Ayrshire cattle spread over two milking parlours. This is all on dryland, no water for irrigation is readily available. I should add that this is a very small part of South Africa. If you drive two hours in any direction, you can have desert, sea, indigenous forests, etc. Thanks for the kind words! |
