As far as I know there was never a four barrel carb option for the 304 or the 345 engines. And as far as cold starting, the choke cable broke on mine years ago and I have never needed it badly enough to get around to fixing it. Runs smooth pretty much after the first half a minute or so. Engine warms up to operating temp just fine but those old heaters never did put out a lot of hot air. Lucky I don't have to drive it much in winter.
