Nth New South Wales Australia

We have run one of those engines for quite a few years now and have had a good run.Ours is a DDEC111 in a Ford rated at 430 on pedal and 470 on cruise.

These are not a 'snappy' engine as the power delivery is very smooth due to the fully electronic control and we have found that to be a plus when working with high gross weights as the drive line does not get shocked, however they are a good pulling engine that does the job with a minimum of fuss.Ours is usually running close to max most of the time and we have not the best fuel figures however that is to be expected with two trailer work no matter what the colour.

Peak torque on ours is at 1450rpm and on cruise on the highway it is turning at 1600rpm grossing 178,200lbs.I don't downshift untill 1400rpm.
