Subject: RE: fendts?

The Internet

I know nothing of Fendts really, but on the tyres, nobody uses duals in Europe*, every tractor that is comparable to a Fendt 900 is on large wide tyres. A couple of years ago when our 8680 was up for replacement we demoed a 765 Challenger on the same mounted cultivator the massey was using. There was less slip, but that was to be expected, tracks aren't supposed to slip like wheels are. There was however no improvement in work rate but a marked reduction in comfort. A new 8690 was ordered on big tyres.

* I say nobody uses duals, they do get used sometimes for floatation work, but that is about it.
