| I do not have any of the blue (I think those are open center) valves, so take this with a grain of salt. It is not likely that you have a hydraulic problem.
"Steering was very erratic/darted to make steering corrections" this is exactly the way my units acted when the SPS was worn out. You can check the SPS by going to the screen where the SPS is set and slowly and smoothly turn the steering wheel. Any jumps in the readout near the center mean that the SPS is bad. You could also check the SPS by moving the mounting of to give it a "new" center. That would mean re-setting the left, right, and center positions. It will also be necessary to avoid bottoming out the steering opposite the way you moved the sensor. If you do that someting will get bent/destroyed.
I will say this again, the linear steering position sensors have never worked for me for more than a few years. I have replaced a bunch of them. | |
