I am running 100-125 lbs of downpressure when the planter is in the ground. This may be too much in my conditions this year. My flat planted ground has a couple of inches of nice soil on top of muck underneath. When the planter is down and stopped, I can barely turn the depth gauge wheel on the ground with two hands, which is what you want all while clearing residue and getting 2" planting depth.
