I was using Dawn trashwheel/coulter combo units on my old planter until an agronomist told me to take the coulters off when planting corn. The coulter can smear the sidewall of the seed trench, slowing emergence. In cool, moist notill conditions it made a huge difference in final stand. The planter I have now has trashwheels only for notill corn planting.
