Pioneer has a way of staying on a farm after a failure. I have seen several cases where pioneer corn was very poor, but the farm gets tied up for several years on seed needs because of some great deal offerred.
I know of one case this past season where the farmer was offerred 20,000 of free seed either corn or beans. He declined and ordered seed from two other companies.
