We are dealing several issues at once.

• Our server was about the fastest on the market two years ago...but that was two years ago.
• Our software was written to run on a single server.
• Our host has failed to provide the speed and services we need.

Our developer has been in the process of updating the code for a long time but it isn't the focus of his work, so progress remains slow. He can, however, rework the existing code to share the load between two servers. We have asked him to do that. We are also changing Web hosts, which will require that we be down a couple of days. But when we return we should be fast enough to handle the ever-increasing load -- for a couple more years, at least!
