Lone Wolf, Ok | 1st Step - change the suction filter -- dependent upon history - it may be a canister or may have been changed to a spin-on (I got to swap ours years ago to spin-on - that was fun)
2nd -- pumps -- If 2 x pumps (ours has one) -- you may get by cheaper -- but -- probably the pump is shot -- Be sure and change the oil and filter if you have to put a pump (and a plug of grease in the suction hose helps to prime the dry pump)
Pressure gauges / Hydroflow analyzer is the real answer to telling what's going on -- it can tell cavitation (one of the beauty's of having a gear pump) and tell pressure at volume -- (the real test)
