Yes, and sometimes the best way to get there is a canoe... It probably sounds like im contradicting myself from my first post but the edges of anything is the best whether its the edge by the pickups or the edge by the river... You want to be where not many hunters will be...

And find PINCH POINTS on the map... Any time there is a bottle neck in the timber use it for your advantage.

Unless you have a God givin gift of direction, bring a good map and compass... Even in "medium" sized timbers... saved my but more than a few times.
