west central Iowa | The commercial preconditioning receiveing feed such as purina have a lot of cobs in them. I have my own recipe for precon that has a lot of ground cobs in it and I have excellent luck with it. Iowa State used to feed whole cobs to one of their teaching herds along with corn silage. They would eat the corn silage and then take a while to eat the cobs and a good fence would be necesary I imagine. Maybe if you can't grind them you could soak them with some molasses or corn syrup to get them to eat them. Otherwise just use them for bedding. | |
