The AGCO draper is an all together different header than MacDon. It is a true flex head with a cutter bar flex system very similar to Deere's HydraFlex system used on their auger flex heads and new flex drapers. The MacDon flex draper is simply a "rigid" cutter bar header whose frame is hinged on either side of its adapter/feed belt, essentially a bat-wing mower type of flex. The cutter bar will not flex over rocks or other foreign objects instead the the entire wing of the head raises up to go over the object leaving behind a tapered wedge of uncut plants that would never be found when using a flexible cutter bar.

As for MacDon making drapers for Deere, it is true, the new Deere swathes have MacDon drapers styled and branded Deere. It would not be out of line for Deere to scrub their new line of flex drapers for an entire line from MacDon. Just because they are new doesn't mean they need to continue to be produced, when they can be had cheaper. These types of "lessons in futility" go on all the time in manufacturing.
