That $3.00 injection can prevent a lot of hard, nasty, exhausting, and sometimes fruitless but still expensive work dealing with those heifers that get bred early and don't get a shot. Really bad deal when someone doesn't find one for a few days after she goes into labor. Some sell their mistakes at the local sale barn.
