SC Montana where General Custer should've stopped
I know one thing the beet guys around here would plow up there mothers yard or the lawns around the local church just to farm another acre of beets. Their rotations are pretty tight. Beet/ barley/beets/barley, etc, etc. I always here them say I wish i could get on a three year rotation. Its easy, Don't be so greedy and rotate a lil more. We give out 700 acre and never go back to back. I use a three / four year rotation and also swap alfalfa fiels into the mix. My growers all compliment me on the quality of dirt. I get 20% of the gross and it has been very rewrding the last several years. We were up around 70 something dollars a ton for the 2011 crop. Thanks for all their hard work the beet guys are smiling around here, so are the machinery dealers.
