Hi Tom,

in the earlier thread you indicated that didn't notice any difference in stand count or early growth rate between the 3 treatments.

How about later in the season? Did all the treatments appear to be synchronized in terms of plant development throughout the season?
Did everything look the same to you (e.g., timing of leaf curling, timing of tasseling and silking) throughout the season?

I have read about situations where greater drought stress (and yield loss) was observed in plots that received fertilizer as compared to control plots that were not fertilized. The explanation provided was that the fertilizer stimulated early season growth and uptake of water resulting in more severe water stress later in the season (e.g., during pollination) when moisture stress has greater impact on yield.
