Subject: RE: Another rootless corn question ?

Our rootless corn was all leaning at a 45 degree angle (or less) after we got .9" last Thursday.  By friday it was starting to put on brace roots and root properly.  Last night it's brace roots were going down 3-4 inches and the color had come back.  I suspect that rain was a life saver, and I'm sorry for folks that are still waiting.  Also, for the record, our "rootless" plants had more than just one root, they had 2 or 3 connecting them to the bottom of the plant, so I should probably call them "floppy."  Still they weren't normal, just not as bad as some of the pictures that have been posted here on NAT.
