I was a JD dealer w few years ago. They had a 4840 I wanted. I knew one of the guys that turned wrenches there so when I stopped by I had my check book. The price was going to be a little high but I was going to just write a check because it was nice. Anyway I waited my turn while the dealer sold lawn mowers. When my turn came I started in to his office and the sales man told me to GET OUT as he could sell a mower while I was in there buying that tractor and he made WAY more on those mowers! I watched for about 30 minutes. That guy could sell a new mower about every 10 minutes. No one bargained. They paid the asking price and got all the service plans and all the attachments. At least I couldn't blame the salesman for what he did. I talked to several buyers and they brought all those mowers to the shop for oil changes and all the maintenance.
