If your using farmworks you edit boundary / copy boundary / create a new layer / paste addition of boundary / select buffer tab / select boundary again / enter buffer width (number of headlands x planter width) / select finish / highlight new buffer area and call it an exclusion zone / when performing headland you turn the section control to manual to allow seeding in the exclusion zone.

Quick and easy. You need that good boundary to get started. Or be satisfied with section control that may be a couple feet off.
