One of our fire dept. grass rigs has a 18hp. BS engine running the pump. At the last fire, it didn't want to rev up and wanted to smoke but we thought one of the rookies put "drip torch" fuel in it, which is 1/2 gas/diesel. We drained it out, put new plugs in, figured all was well. Today at a grass fire, it was worse than before, barely running and smoking all the time. I took the air cleaner off and cleared right up. So I figured okay, the air filter is plugged enough that it is drawing oil out of the crankcase and is burning that thus all the smoke. Okay ,we rev it up with the air cleaner off, and when it got reved up it would start spitting oil into the air intake of the carb. So it wasn't drawing it like I thought but is building pressure in the crankcase. Is there a pvc valve on a Briggs or do we have to look deeper?
