Subject: RE: JD 1760 planter rigid or flex

NE Nebraska
We have a rigid but would much rather have a flex. The outside row units take a beeting going through ditches and uneven ground. The newer model 1760's had a re-engineered flex point in the middle. When we looked at planters all the flexes were cracked and welded but no good way to reweld that hinge. Pnuematic down pressure would help a rigid planter some, but if you have rolling or hilly ground, a good flex is worth it, IMO.
