Does the person you are renting it from actually run it off another signal besides WAAS? If so it might not be set to WAAS only.
If it says 'gps signal degraded' and not 'gps signal lost' you should be able to continue running, correct? Is it disengaging the steering? You getting the message 'gps signal degraded' make me think its not set to WAAS only.
