Cedar Rapids, Iowa | The LightSquared compatible cell phones will transmit on a frequency right next to GLONASS L1. While phones are much lower power, they effectively become portable GLONASS jamming devices. The radius of jamming will be a much shorter distance than what the towers are, simply because the phone have much lower power transmitters.
Not sure about Galileo's frequencies, but that constellation won't be fully populated until sometime around 2020. | |
