Subject: Re: LightSquared interference update

There are lots of frequencies out there that don't interfere with critical things like GPS. Our rural fire departments are going to narrow band radios to free up more frequencies - surely something else will be available. Why would they want these frequencies in the first place - no RF guys working for lightsquared? Why on earth would the FCC even think of granting rights to those frequencies - maybe some ultra low power appications, but certainly not high wattage blow torches like lightsquared is proposing. It's just really confusing - sounds like someone made a big mistake and they were too far down the road when they realized it.

thanks,

Pat
