With a planter, I would set it as low as possible, to allow the tightest turns. At higher speeds (think sprayers), you might increase it to prevent speed/angle related disengagements. So for a 12R30 planter, your swath width is 36' and I would set the Minimum Turning Radius to 36' as well.
