Western CO | We made the switch in '05 with our first mac I think. As mentioned, everything you listed will transfer easily.
While the perception is that Macs are expensive I think as Eric mentioned if you actually compare equivalent performance and hardware you will not be too far off on price. I haven't done it for a while but a little over a year ago this topic came up of how much more expensive that Macs are -- the discussion was specifically about laptops and I did a direct comparison of a Macbook to a Toshiba and the price was within a $100 or so for the same performance and specs and the Macbook was a model that was an aluminum unibody that is not available in a PC. We started with Mac mini and used a keyboard and mouse that we already had. That was a great way to start, and Eric's plan of buying a used mine certainly wouldn't be a bad idea either. We sold two white macbooks in the last 6 mo. or so and got 350 and 300 for them respectively after 4 years of use. | |
