| MTfarm - I love being able to make my phone a disk drive and able to dump files on card and be able to drop in other peoples computers...
Again, there are hundreds of apps that let you do this over the air. Most require wifi, but I had an app on my Droid that I could transfer files back and forth from any web browser - over the cell network. No need to be messing with SD cards that can get lost when you can do that. I seldom used it though - and haven't bothered to look for an iPhone app with that capability, but willing to bet they are out there. With that app, you could have someone back home "beam" a file to you, wherever you were at and in seconds, it would be on the phone.
MobileMe also has iDisk. Files can be dropped or stored in iDisk from the desktop and accessible from any of your iOS devices or any internet connected computer. Rumor is, Apple is going to make MM a free service for everyone sometime this spring. That effectively eliminates any need for removable storage. |
