I don't think it is really necessary. Most consumers seem more concerned with pesticides herbicides preservatives than whether the nitrogen comes from urine or petroleum. It is all going into the plants with effectively zero risk of it getting into the water table. I think almost anyone couldngrow fresh vegetables indoors with almost no investment.
