Similar story; sometime in very early 1980's I wanted to help my Dad with his bookkeeping by introducing him to computers otherwise he would continue using up half of each month filing ppwk. His neighbor was a geek and had shown Dad his stuff but all required programming skills and left him scratching his head. The unit IBM was offering as a PC had a manual that was 2' x 2' x 6" brick of tractor paper printout and very intimidating. Then I showed him the Apple IIe and he took to it like a fish to water and used it for about 10 years then switched to a MS Windows machine for the business software usage. Now as he's up in years is again using a MAC for personal stuff. |
