Steve Jobs announced another medical leave of absence yesterday, which caused a sharp drop in the share price in premarket and opening bell today. It slowly recovered throughout the day, but rose to a new record high with the company's earnings report this afternoon. Some highlights from that...

16.2 million iPhones sold this past quarter. Would have been higher, but they couldn't make them fast enough. This is simply amazing seeing as how the iPhone 4 has been on the market for 5 months already at quarter end. Looks like I will be up at 12:01 2/3 preordering to try and get my hands on one.  ;)  Also more proof that antennagate was media sensationalism. iPhone sales were up 86% over same period last year.

4.13 million Macs sold. 23% growth over the year-ago. 8 times PC growth in the market.

iPad sold 7.3 million units. Total since intro last April is over 15 million units.

Over 80% of Fortune 100 companies are deploying or testing the iPad
