My pc runs sloooooooooooow. I've deleated history and emptyed the recycle bin hoping that would do the trick in speeding it up. It didn't. I was told it probably needs defraged . I guess that means to clean the pc system out completely.
Can anyone tell me how to do this step by step ?? I would app. it !!
Open a "my computer" window. Right click on the drive to defragment, then click properties. You will find the defragement option under the tools tab. Not a bad idea to do a disk cleanup and run a disk check first (the error checking option on that tools tab)
I have found this does help speed, but what can really affect speed is in the MFT or Page file get fragmented. The XP built in defrag utility will not solve this. I use the 30 day trial of diskkeeper to fix these issues. |
