My comment about dialup referred to a time long ago. I'm on DSL and was one of the first in our area. I've been fortunate to work with our ISP to get it to work as I'm a little far from where I should be. As to dialup slowing a virus attack, I doubt it matters. If you hit a site that loads something and you're there any length of time you'll get the virus. The other most common way is via emails from relatives and friends. Open the email and you get the virus. I've been working on computers over 25 years and I had people get a virus when they had dialup. |
