Subject: RE: Crowd tub/alley/chute

NC Indiana
Neighbor has 40+/- pairs. His working area is patterned after his in-laws system in SD. It' is in a K shape w/ the first part of the K being a tub w/ a crowding gate that cuts the calves down one leg of the K to a working chute and the cows go down the other leg to a head gate that also locks open to load out. The sides are native 2x8's 7 ft high w/ RR tie posts. An L shaped lane connects all patures to this area and serves as extra holding and a sorting area. Personally, I'd like to have a ring off of a 24' or a ring off a harvestor, but I have not need to move it, though there is a local welding shop that will make a bin ring portable for you.
