I have S-video out of my computer.  I hooked it up to an old CRT 27" TV and got picture and sound.  The wires are S-video from the computer and composite into the TV.  Simple.  I took it into our living room and hooked it up to our regular Magnavox 27" TV and I got picture but no sound AND I had black and white, no color. 

Any thoughts?  

I was going to use my laptop to play Netflix on the TV in the living room as there is so little on TV now at night.
