| Actually yes, I have seen the orthman units in the ground. When you have something as heavy as a 24 row planter, they have a tendency to slide down the slope and create ruts on the top side of them and burms below them. They have to displace material to work. I'm not saying that they are not a viable solution, I am just saying that they are not a fix all. In some instances, driving up the slope works fine, in others it doesn't. The orthmans also have thier ups and downs. And the cost of making the implement actually steer is would be horrendous. It's a give and take world, and each system has it's place.
It's the same thing as the Ag Leader seed command. Does it work? Yes. Will it completely pay for itself? That's debatable on the situation. We have to look at all of this in a light that reflects it's purpose and it's results, and everyone's will be different. That's the nature of technology.
