Subject: Re: Early Snow Leopard review

This post increases my desire to give a Mac a shot. I've always wanted one just to learn, but can't justify it because:

1. My Dell laptop does everything I need (and want) so spending money on any new computer is not justifiable

2. My understanding is that the Mac versions of Quickbooks Pro don't always play nice with the PC versions which is unacceptable to me (accountant/farm management guy uses PCs)

3. If I ever get more serious about precision farming, Mapshots, Apex, Farmworks, etc are not an option with a Mac.

I'm sure the quick answer to all but the first of these problems is either bootcamp or parallels. My brother in law uses one of the two to game with. It really didn't work well. I tried to close out of his game and it ended up shutting the computer down. I don't think I'd want to trust that for my business related tasks. Maybe he was doing something wrong. Additionally, reason number 1 still gets in the way. Oh well.
